Course Description
This course covers the use of deadly force, firearms safety, care and cleaning of service weapons, and firearms shooting principles. The course focuses on student's decision-making ability and firearms shooting ability. Student’s will shoot handguns, shotguns, and rifles with a variety of different types of ammunition. Student’s will be involved in simulator training on a variety of situations and be evaluated on their decision making. Students will learn techniques associated with responses to active shooter situations. In order to enroll in this course a student must have approval by a Minnesota Professional Peace Officer Education Program Coordinator and successful completion of psychological and physical exams. Completion Requirements: A minimum of a “C” grade will be required to pass this course.
