Course Description

This course is designed to develop a philosophic recreational background with a practical hands on experience with recreational event planning, promoting and managing of events and facilities. The student will develop a broad background in the foundations of recreation administration and leisure activities for all ages. Students will have hands-on experience with planning recreational events and managing students in a class recreational setting. Completion of PHWS 2270 and/or PHWS 280 is recommended.

  4. Demonstrate the ability to effectively evaluate ethical issues.
  5. Exhibit a variety of leadership styles to work with and manage personnel.
  6. Demonstrate skills for supervision, coordinating and working with school age populations in a recreational setting.
