Rochester Community and Technical College’s Business and Accounting degrees have been awarded accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP). These accredited degrees include: Business Administration AS/2+2, Business Management AAS, Business Management-Marketing AAS, and Accounting AS/2+2 Degrees. RCTC is also fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
ACBSP is the only association accrediting business, accounting, and business-related programs at all degree levels — associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels — worldwide. ACBSP was the first business accreditation association to be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) first in 2001 and again in 2011.
To achieve accreditation, members of the Business Division faculty had to demonstrate that the programs meet a rigorous set of quality standards set forth by ACBSP. RCTC’s Business and Accounting departments are comprised of six full-time faculty and several adjunct faculty. Accounting, Business, and Economics members worked with their program advisory board members to achieve this program accreditation.
Evaluators from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs noted how well the RCTC’s academic Early Alert System was designed for ease of use, communication, and helping with student retention. The RCTC Business Division faculty were recognized for their strong team environment where faculty share resources and best practices, provide peer coaching and mentoring, and support each other. The College was also recognized for its support of faculty, staff, students, and special projects such as accreditation.
