Office 365 One Tenant Project

RCTC Office365 Migration:

RCTC will be migrating all Office 365 services to the Minnesota State single tenant the week of June 11, 2018.

The goal of this project is to bring all Minnesota State colleges and universities into a single system with Office 365. Employees with multiple campus affiliations will have a single mailbox that will work at each participating institution. This project includes services such as email, One Drive, Sharepoint, Skype for Business and more.

RCTC Faculty/Staff:

Your email address doesn’t change. All of your email, folders and OneDrive content will be migrated into the new system. However, to log in to the system, now you will be using as your username starid@minnstate.edu (use your actual starid). All Office 365 services – including email – will be unavailable June 15-17, 2018. There will also be sporadic periods of time where access will be limited or unavailable during the week of June 11-15, 2018. During the migration period, users may receive an undeliverable error message.

Summer Semester Instructors: please note that there will be a time period during the week of migration when students will not be able to access their campus email.

All Employees: email forwarding rules, delegation access (calendars/mailboxes), Skype contacts, Outlook profiles (custom settings/email signatures/etc.) will not migrate and will need to be recreated. The TSC Team will be available to assist in setting these items back up if assistance is needed, by contacting them at tech.help@rctc.edu. 

 

RCTC Students:

Your student email addresses will be changing. The new format will be first.last@my.rctc.edu. Emails sent to current students campus email using the old format will continue to be delivered. Students with multiple campus affiliations may have their default send from address set to a different Minnesota State campus (with an .edu domain), but can request this be changed to the my.rctc.edu via a support ticket tech.help@rctc.edu. Current students will have email, folders and OneDrive content migrated into the new system. Students will log in using your username starid@go.minnstate.edu (use your actual starid). All Office 365 services – including email – will be unavailable June 15 – 17, 2018. There will also be sporadic periods of time where access will be limited or unavailable during the week of June 11-15, 2018. During the migration period, users may receive an undeliverable error message.
