‘Unbought’ celebrates three remarkable Black women

In lieu of this week’s What’s Up Wednesday, join your fellow students and faculty in the Hill Theater for the Black History Month event, “Unbought,” Unbought is a musical theater piece presenting the dramatic stories of three African-American women: Ida B. Wells, a journalist and women’s suffrage activist; Shirley Chisholm, the first African-American in the U.S. Congress and the first African-American woman to run for president; and Sally Hemings, the slave with whom Thomas Jefferson fathered six children. The music is drawn from classical, jazz, and popular works by African-American composers. Noon to 1 p.m., Hill Theater.
