If you’ve ventured by the cafeteria on Thursdays between 11:30am till 12:30am, you may have been lucky enough to have seen RCTC’s new lunchtime music series, Live @ Lunch’, a show that has musicians perform for students and staff in the cafeteria.

Student Life decided to start Live @ Lunch not only to provide entertainment, but to extend RCTC exposure in communities that wouldn’t interact with the students as much.

“We’d love to gain traction in our community here as well as find new and different ways to ensure students enjoy being on campus,” Courtney Thorenson, Student Life Specialist, said, “Starting Live @ Lunch was a perfect way to make it happen.”

Local singer/songwriter and lyricist Pat Egan was one of the featured performers at a past Live @ Lunch.

Over the last few performances, Live @ Lunch musicians have included local artists with roots at RCTC who were glad to be back and impressed by the steps forward we have taken, and touring artists, who reached out to us after extensive word-of-mouth in the artist community. After a truly intense selection process, the result is a diverse, talented range of artists performing this semester.

The Student Life Department at Rochester Community & Technical College serves as a hub for a variety of programs, services, facilities and operations that are all designed to enrich your college experience.

Student Life organizes monthly events for students with ongoing events throughout the school year and encourages RCTC students to participate in events, activities and student government as a way to experience personal growth, meet new friends and share interests with other students.
