Nathan Hoover

Rochester-native Nathan Hoover, an up-and-coming photographer and RCTC student, is making a name for himself in the Rochester community. (His second claim to fame is that he’s a quadruplet.)

A graduate of Mayo High School, Hoover discovered his interest in photography in his freshman year. Shortly after graduating, he secured a position as the fashion photographer for Simba Clothing and Simple Clothing, two independent Rochester clothing lines started by Mayo High School students. Most recently, he’s added another local clothing brand, Fenome Wears, to the list of people he’s worked with.

Hoover’s involvement with the Simba clothing line has led to further exposure and collaborations with other groups, including the Strange Oasis Entertainment record label in Madison, WI. He continues to be heavily involved in photography, which is his major at RCTC. In addition to fashion photography, he covers RCTC events and various shows and events across Rochester and is a photographer for the Echo.

He credits his passion for photography to his mother Melanie Hoover, who gave him his first camera. The rest came about through the gradual unfolding of opportunities.

“I started freelancing with people for free, and now I’m making money from it and getting involved with the city and school by covering events,” Hoover stated.

After completing his photography certificate at RCTC, he plans to take multi-media/business classes and start working with a bigger photography company or as an independent photographer with music groups or clothing brands.

For now, his photography business operates under the name Five0Seven Photography, and he’s equipped with business cards with contact information to help increase his business.
