On Saturday, Dec. 3, RCTC’s men’s basketball team beat Itasca Community College 118-75 for head coach Brian LaPlante’s 400th career win.
He is the first coach in RCTC’s history to achieve this milestone. He has been the head coach since 1996.
“Coach LaPlante represents the best of athletic competition, sportsmanship, scholarship, athleticism, and leadership,” said Dr. Michael Anthony, Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. “He also epitomizes Yellowjacket athletics. I am so very thankful for his leadership of the men’s basketball program for these many years, and of the Athletics Department on several occasions. I am proud to call him a colleague and friend, and congratulate him on this monumental accomplishment!”
The Yellowjackets have a 7-3 won-lost record. Their first game after semester break is Friday, Jan. 6, against North Dakota State College of Science at Inver Grove Heights.
