In fall 2018, RCTC expanded its system for recognizing students for their excellence in scholastic achievement.
ìStudentís faculty, and the administration felt it was important to create additional recognition not only for traditional Deanís List recipients, but also for those students who had exceptionally high performance in the classroom,î said Dr. Michael Anthony, vice president of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
ìRCTC now also recognizes high achieving part-time students, who make up about 60 percent of the student population,î Anthony added. ìThe former system only recognized student enrolled in 12 credit hours or more. We have so many talented students at RCTC, and we believe that they should be recognized for their success.î
There are now three categories of achievement: the Deanís List, the Presidentís List, and the High Academic Achievement list. Students who completed 12 credits or more for the same semester with a 3.0-3.7 GPA go on the Deanís List, students who completed 12 credits or more for the same semester with a 3.75-4.0 GPA, go on the Presidentís List and student who completed 3-11 credits for the same semester with a 3.75-4.0 GPA go on the High Academic Achievement list.
More than 1,800 students achieved recognition status for Fall Semester including 632 qualifying for the Deanís List, 404 for the Presidentís List. A total of 838 students qualified for the High Academic Achievement List. RCTCís Excellence in Scholastic Achievement listings are available here.
