Instructor contributes two chapters to book

Art + Design Instructor Suzanne Szucs has authored two chapters for the ìRoutledge Companion of Photography and Visual Culture,î collaborating with David Martin and James Koschoreck.

These two chapters are ìPhotography, Visual Culture, and the (Re)definition of the Male Gaze,î and ìUnqueer, Lesbian, Trans: Shifting Gazes in Photography and Visual Culture.î

ìThe Routledge Companion of Photography and Visual Cultureî features dozens of nationally and internationally recognized writers and scholars in the field of photography. The text examines theoretical issues of particular importance to photography for the 21st century.

In addition to teaching art and photography at RCTC, Szucs works in photo, digital imaging and video to create her own work. Many of her subjects deal with the body and the landscape and never-ending issues of identity.

Szucs is a recipient of numerous grants and awards, including an Illinois Arts Council Individual Fellowship and two Minnesota State Arts Board Individual Artist Grants.
