Career/Program Overview

RCTC’s Business Administrative Technology (BTEC) careers include various degree options as an Administrative Assistant, a Customer Service Administrative/Specialist and a certificate program as a Software Application Specialist. BTEC coursework develops office skills, knowledge and attitudes sought by today’s employers. Curriculum-at-a-Glance

Depending on the program option selected, coursework may include written and oral communications, word processing, machine transcription, human relations, computer voice technology, microcomputer business applications, internships, and small business accounting.

Program/Degree Options

Business Administrative Technology (BTEC) program/degree options include the following:

Program Start Date(s)

Students can start coursework any semester. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. All courses in the Administrative Assistant A.S., A.A.S., Diploma and Certificate options are available online. In addition, all Customer Service courses as part of the Diploma and Certificate programs are available online.

Career Opportunities/Information

Job opportunities for Administrative Assistants may be available in large and small offices including IBM, Mayo Clinic, the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, area public schools, and insurance firms to name a few.
