Phi Theta Kappa

Are you one of RCTC’s top-ranked students that received the spring 2025 PTK invitation?

Check your email!

Phi Theta Kappa members make the most of their community college experience by being active members of our chapter and contributing their time and talents to activities related to PTK’s hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. To be eligible, students must complete a certain number of credits (between 9-12 depending on their program) and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

PTK sends out invitations each year in the spring and fall. Please note that invitations to join Phi Theta Kappa will come directly from Phi Theta Kappa. You can feel comfortable treating all other “honor society” invitations ([email protected], etc.) as spam and deleting them. If you have questions or want to confirm the legitimacy of your invitation, please contact Ellie Randall, RCTC Sociology instructor and Phi Theta Kappa advisor ([email protected]).

Get ready to apply for RCTC Scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year!

From February 16, 2026 through March 31, 2026, students can complete the RCTC Scholarship Application, one simple application that matches you with over $450,000 in available scholarship funding. These scholarships can help pay for tuition, textbooks, and class fees, making college more affordable.

Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria, including:

  • Area of study
  • Financial need
  • GPA
  • Life experiences

The RCTC Foundation offers scholarships for incoming, returning, graduating, and transferring students, and applications are accepted three times a year.

Don’t miss your chance to invest in your education.

Want to start preparing? There are three essay questions you could be asked.

  • What are your future educational plans?
  • What are your future career plans and goals?
