RCTC’s Nursing Programs Reaccredited through 2028

Rochester Community and Technical College is proud to announce the Board of Commissioners for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) have granted continuing accreditation to RCTC’s Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing programs through 2028.

The ACEN Board of Commissioners’ decision for an eight-year renewal was based on the accreditation review process and the recommendation for accreditation from the peer evaluators on the site visit team and the Evaluation Review Panel.

RCTC’s associate degree nursing and practical nursing programs are achieving the six ACEN accreditation standards which ensure that students will:

  1. pass NCLEX on the first attempt
  2. gain employment
  3. complete the program

RCTC’s associate degree nursing program has been accredited since 1971, and the practical nursing program since has been accredited since 1978.  RCTC’s Associate Dean of Nursing, Susan Jansen, states “the renewal of our ACEN nursing accreditation further demonstrates RCTC’s commitment to student success.”

RCTC’s Practical Nursing program was recently recognized as the top program in Minnesota by PracticalNursing.org, and a top program in the Midwest by NursingProcess.org.
