The research vessel (RV) Blue Heron is operated by the University of Minnesota and is the largest university-owned research vessel on the Great Lakes. For the last 28 years, she and her crew have been assisting researchers from around the country in studying the waters of the Great Lakes. This lecture will explore the ship’s capabilities, the work she has done, and the future of research on the Great Lakes.
