Job Responsibilities

Join the RCTC College Relations team and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, in-house marketing department.
You’ll work alongside our staff as a student marketing assistant helping with routine duties such as campus posting, printer
maintenance, creative production, general office tasks and options to create print and digital marketing materials while learning every
stage of the production process—from concept and design to large-format printing, installation, and campus branding. This position is
ideal for students interested in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, print production, or creative services.

  • Production: Assist with operating large-format printers and finishing equipment, including maintenance. Trim, mount,
    laminate, tape, grommet, and prepare graphics for assembly or installation. Maintain campus bulletin boards. Assist with
    special marketing projects using the xTool laser engraver/cutter. Assist with shirt production using transfers and heat press.
  • Photography: Option exists for photography projects if desired/knowledgeable in that area. Not necessary to apply for job.
  • Graphic Design: Option exists to assist in designing marketing materials for print and digital media using Adobe Creative
    Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or Canva if desired/knowledgeable in that area. Not necessary to apply for job.

Performance Expectations

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be fluent in written and spoken English and be
able to successfully proofread documents. The candidate must be reliable, able to meet deadlines, work quickly and with consistent
accuracy. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva is a plus but not necessary.

  • You are entitled to a 15-minute break for every four consecutive hours worked.

Performance Review

Students are eligible for a wage increase after they have worked 200 hours and based on performance evaluation. The area supervisor will assess the student employee’s performance, work attendance and attitude as it relates to the job tasks, RCTC values, service attributes, core outcomes, and interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
