Job Responsibilities
Front Desk Duties may include, but are not limited to, typing, filing, appointment confirmation, maintaining patient charts, answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and other administrative tasks.
Clinical Duties may include, but are not limited to, light housekeeping, inventory management, restocking supplies, sterilization, instrument processing, tray setup, and other clinic support tasks.
Performance Expectations
Students should be reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and self-motivated. They should work well with others, interact professionally and courteously with staff and dental patients, and demonstrate a strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements within a dental office setting.
Additional Notes
- Complete student worker training when assigned.
- Communicate any schedule changes to your lead worker in advance.
- Submit your payroll forms to gain access to eTime through e-Services (Student Employment).
- All hours must be recorded on eTime the day they are worked: https://www.rctc.edu/eservices/
- You are entitled to a 15-minute break for every four consecutive hours worked.
Performance Review
Students are eligible for a wage increase after they have worked 200 hours and based on performance evaluation. The area supervisor will assess the student employee’s performance, work attendance and attitude as it relates to the job tasks, RCTC values, service attributes, core outcomes, and interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
