Job Responsibilities

Tutor students as needed in the drawing and painting classes. Help maintain the studio, cleaning and organizing as needed. Help to maintain materials and supplies by organizing and inventorying as needed. The student worker should be familiar with the studio and be able to demonstrate proper safety studio practices.

Performance Expectations

The student worker should have completed, and performed exceptionally well, in at least one drawing or painting class. The student worker should be familiar with the drawing and painting studio and be able to demonstrate proper safety studio practices. As a representative of the college and the art department, the student worker should be respectful of our diverse student population and community constituents.

Keep up with entering work hours in eTime after each shift.

Additional Notes

  • Complete student worker training when assigned.
  • Communicate any schedule changes to your lead worker in advance.
  • Submit your payroll forms to gain access to eTime through e-Services (Student Employment).
  • All hours must be recorded on eTime the day they are worked: https://www.rctc.edu/eservices/
  • You are entitled to a 15-minute break for every four consecutive hours worked.

Performance Review

Students are eligible for a wage increase after they have worked 200 hours and based on performance evaluation. The area supervisor will assess the student employee’s performance, work attendance and attitude as it relates to the job tasks, RCTC values, service attributes, core outcomes, and interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
