Job Responsibilities

  • Greet nursing students and assist them in obtaining the supplies and materials they need.
  • Maintain familiarity with supply storage areas and supply carts to effectively support students.
  • Help keep the lab clean, organized, and orderly by making beds, restocking and organizing supply carts, and ensuring equipment is clean and properly stored.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns Tawny Amos/CLA1.
  • Complete various lab-related projects, including filling IV bags, assembling nursing assistant (NA) supply bags, and cleaning mannequins.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by Tawny Amos/CLA1.

Performance Expectations

The student worker must be dependable, self-motivated, organized, assertive, courteous, and responsible. Food and beverages are not permitted in the laboratory area. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a major in an Allied Health Program or the Sciences.

  • Complete student worker training when assigned.
  • Communicate any schedule changes to your lead worker in advance.
  • Submit your payroll forms to gain access to eTime through e-Services (Student Employment).

  • You are entitled to a 15-minute break for every four consecutive hours worked.

Performance Review

Students are eligible for a wage increase after they have worked 200 hours and based on performance evaluation. The area supervisor will assess the student employee’s performance, work attendance and attitude as it relates to the job tasks, RCTC values, service attributes, core outcomes, and interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
