Tips for Financial Success at RCTC

  • Four RCTC students standing together holding a navy blue sign "Proud to be a Yellowjacket" on a bright sunny late August day
  • Financial Aid (including loan funds) is prorated based on the number of credits you are enrolled in each semester. Review your award offer closely to determine how much funding you can expect to receive. Stop by the Welcome and One Stop Center for assistance if you have questions.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and complete a minimum of 66.67% of all credits attempted.
  • Repeating a course? Financial aid can pay for only one repeat of a previously passed course. Once your new grade is posted, the Records Office will update your transcript.
  • If you stop attending your courses or completely withdraw, you could end up owing a sizeable refund to the financial aid programs. See your academic advisor before changing your registration.
  • Financial aid will only pay for 30 credits of developmental courses (classes numbered below 1000).
  • Work with your academic advisor if you are considering a change in major. Not all majors are eligible for financial aid.
  • Stay on track with your educational goals. Attempting too many credits before reaching graduation may result in having to appeal for continued financial aid funding.
  • There is a maximum amount of financial aid you can receive in one school year and a maximum amount of aid you can receive over your lifetime. Limitations apply to Pell grants, State grants and student loans. See the Welcome and One Stop Center staff if you are concerned about your eligibility for continued funding.
