Supporting Students’ Basic Needs

As a student your safety, health, and well-being are our primary concern and we want to be able to support you in any way that we can.

Generally, RCTC’s faculty and staff are knowledgeable about both campus and community resources and will do their best to connect you with the supports you need. However, our Resource Coordinator, Anfa Diiriye, is a specialist in this area. Staying current in her understanding of available supports, Anfa can connect you with options to meet your health, housing, childcare, food, and other financial needs. You may learn more about available supports as well as find Anfa’s contact information.

Here are a few examples of on-campus supports

  • The Student Emergency Fund (SEF) assists RCTC students by providing financial support when they need assistance with unexpected emergency expenses surrounding situations such as accidents, illnesses, death of a family member, transportation issues, fire damage or need for temporary housing.
  • The Hive Supply is RCTC’s on-campus food pantry. Currently enrolled RCTC students have access to the food, personal hygiene products and school supplies stocked in the Hive Supply. Inventory varies based on time of year and donations. Students can visit the Hive Supply once per week and can grab up to 15 items per visit. In between visits, please take grab-and-go bags as needed. These are bags packed with non-perishable food items. They are located in the Atrium and outside of the Hive Supply.
