Black History Month is an important observance in the U. S., and RCTC wants to provide our students with a number of opportunities to engage in activities to learn more about the contributions and achievement of African Americans throughout our nation’s history.

For Black History Month, RCTC Student Life is:

  • Offering 10 students free access to the ASALH Virtual Festival “Black Bodies: From Exploitation to Excellence Part 1 and 2”
  • Providing opportunities for celebration through art in the Hive and in the Heintz Center Commons all month long
  • Streaming the thought-provoking documentary “13th” in the Hive on February 16th
  • Paying the entry fee for any RCTC into the “Community Connections: African Americans in Rochester” exhibit located at the History Center of Olmsted County.

All of these events are free to RCTC Students. Additionally in the Student Life February newsletter, you can find additional free virtual events for anyone to get involved in!
