Cost of Attending RCTC

The Financial Aid Department at Rochester Community and Technical College is available to assist students who need financial aid to meet college costs. RCTC awards in excess of $42 million from a variety of financial aid programs including grants, scholarships, work earnings, and student loans.

Determining the cost of attending college can be complicated. In addition to information provided on this page, RCTC has created a link to our own net price calculator to help students and parents estimate the cost of attending our college.

Approximately 70% of all RCTC students receive some type of Financial Aid funding. Students applying for financial aid must be admitted as a degree candidate at RCTC. Generally students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) to be eligible for financial aid. Students enrolled less than half-time may be eligible for prorated Federal Pell and Minnesota State Grants only.  Additionally, students receiving financial aid at RCTC must be making progress toward their degree. Following each term, a student’s academic progress will be reviewed.  All students applying for financial aid will be provided with a link to RCTC’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy and other important consumer information.

All students that wish to apply for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Visit studentaid.gov to begin completion of your FAFSA. Parents are expected to contribute to the student’s college expenses as determined by a federal formula. Estimated college costs include tuition and fees, books and supplies, room/board, transportation, and personal/miscellaneous expenses for the 9-month academic year.
