June 23-27–Fiction Writing Camp

In this Fiction Writing Camp, we’ll focus on the key elements of storytelling: creating engaging plots, developing well-rounded characters, finding your unique voice, maintaining strong pacing, and organizing your story effectively. Through hands-on exercises and feedback, you’ll build the skills needed to strengthen your writing and bring your ideas to life.

Grades: 9 – 12 including 2025 high school graduates

Jena Christianson has an Master of Arts degree in English Writing and Rhetoric. In graduate school, she completed a thesis classifying transgressive fiction, which included a creative component. During the pandemic, she worked as a freelance developmental editor, helping novelists with big-picture elements like character and plot development, structure, pacing, and voice and tone. She has been teaching writing and critical thinking courses at the college-level for 11 years and currently teaches at RCTC.
