Rochester Community and Technical College is proud to announce that Jacob Griggs, RCTC Associate Dean of Liberal Arts and General Education, created a short film that was accepted and will be screened as part of the Spring Grove International Film Festival. Griggs’ short film, “Three Bells” is an official selection for the festival where it will premiere on Friday, September 11.
Griggs wrote, directed, shot and edited his short film which is a 10-minute fictional narrative about one family’s end-of-life experience. Griggs brought the experiences of creating digital cinema projects into the video production classes that he was teaching at the time. The Spring Grove International Film Festival will be held September 11 – 13 in three different COVID-friendly locations in Spring Grove, Minnesota. The Festival Guest of Honor is actor Ed Asner. Asner was part of the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant, and Pixar’s “Up”. Online passes are also available to screen the films from home.
