RCTC Music includes the Wind Ensemble, Choir, Chamber Singers and World Drum Ensemble. The ensembles perform several concerts on and off campus each year. Dave Kassler, on behalf of RCTC Music, cordially invites you to our first concert of the 2018 academic year. He is very excited to be working with the talented students here at RCTC and is excited about sharing that talent with all of you.
About the Concert:
The first portion of our concert will feature a representation of music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, and 20th Century musical style periods. During intermission, there will be an ice-cream sundae social in our dining room, directly over the Hill Theatre. The concert will resume in Hill Theatre with contemporary popular music by the RCTC Choral Pops Ensemble. And....If you're all very very good, there may even be a visit by the Jolly Old Man himself---Santa!

WORLD DRUM ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE:
The RCTC World Drum Ensemble brings its dynamic and explosive sounds along with the driving rhythms of our percussion repertoire to the Hill Theater for the Fall Semester Concert. Under the direction of Denny McGuire. Tuesday, December 5, 4:00pm. Free Admission.
Pieces include a Traditional Ghanaian (West Africa) Bell Processional and Donno (Talking Drum) piece, 3 Brazilian sacred songs from Umbande sung in Portuguese accompanied by atabaque (conga) drums and bell, always a feature of our shows is a smoking hot set of Brazilian Sambas culminating with a finale of Samba Reggae from Bahia (Northeastern Brazil). We look forward to seeing you there!
MUSIC CREATIVITY STUDENT RECITAL:

Tuesday afternoon, December 5 at 12:30pm in the 3rd floor College Center Cafeteria (one floor above Hill Theatre).
The concert features original music, video, and lights compositions by students from the Electronic Music I and II classes, and the Music, Video, Lights-2 class. Under the direction of Dr. Kevin Dobbe. The event is open and free to the public. Hope to see you there.
